JUUL wants to know- “WHY ARE YOU PICKING ON US”?

By: Chad Rhodes January 2, 2020

JUUL is just one of the manufacturers being hit with new regulations on e-cigarettes and vaping products.

JUUL says… There is NO Vitamin E Acetate in their product so why us? The FDA is going forward to eliminate fruity flavors that interests youth. JUUL and the other manufacturers will only have 2 flavors left Regular Tobacco and Menthol for their shoppers to choose from. The FDA feels that this will eliminate the use of tobacco related products..

This will have a financial effect for the stock market also. Due to the fact that it will be another hit on the tobacco industry. Tobacco use fell by approximately 1/3 in 2017 due to e-cigarettes and vaping.

The History of the e-cigarette is very interesting. I am not sure why the FDA and CDC did not step up when the e-cigarette was introduced in the USA in 2006 – 2007. What was George W. Bush thinking? I know for a fact that Ethylene glycol was a main ingredient in the E-cigarette when they were still coming from China in 2010. So why didn’t Barrack Obama take them off the market when they knew the E-cigarette was no good? Let’s see what Trump does now… Will this health hazard be banned for good?

This product was poised for trouble from the beginning. The formula was changed by the USA manufacturers who replaced Ethylene glycol (Antifreeze) with PROPYLENE GLYCOL AND GLYCERINE. So no testing on the lab rats for the Chinese version and USA version which has no real testing to back up the release of the e-cigarette or vaping into the USA.

In 2006 China started exporting e-cigarettes containing Ethylene glycol, the primary ingredient in antifreeze, has the chemical formula C2H6O2.

Ethylene glycol poisoning is poisoning caused by drinking ethylene glycol.[1] Early symptoms include intoxication, vomiting and abdominal pain.[1] Later symptoms may include a decreased level of consciousness, headache, and seizures.[1] Long term outcomes may include kidney failure and brain damage.[1] Toxicity and death may occur after drinking even a small amount.[1] Ethylene glycol is a colorless, odorless, sweet liquid, commonly found in antifreeze.[1] It may be drunk accidentally or intentionally in an attempt to cause death.[2] When broken down by the body it results in glycolic acid and oxalic acid which cause most of the toxicity.[1][4] The diagnosis may be suspected when calcium oxalate crystals are seen in the urine or when acidosis or an increased osmol gap is present in the blood.[1] Diagnosis may be confirmed by measuring ethylene glycol levels in the blood; however, many hospitals do not have the ability to perform this test.[1]

The warning about e-cigarettes containing this chemical came out in the news in 2010. That is 4 years after being on the USA market and still the US did nothing to stop this product. NO RECALL… NOTHING

So why in the world was this allowed by our country to be used as a consumer product in the first place???? Case after case has been reported about Pneumonia and other illnesses related to wet lung syndrome, ARDS.

You might as well say, “People were better off using cigarettes and just dying from cancer, at least they lived longer”.

INGREDIENTS FROM JUUL’s WEBSITE :

PROPYLENE GLYCOL AND GLYCERINE (30/60 MIX)

(UP TO 90%)

Propylene glycol and glycerine are clear liquids that are used to create a visible vapor, and are commonly used by the medical, beauty and food industries. A majority, if not all e-liquids, contain propylene glycol (PG).

BENZOIC ACID

Benzoic acid is a naturally occurring ingredient, found in tobacco and other substances. When combined with nicotine as part of our nicotine salts formulation, it helps provide cigarette-like satisfaction.

NICOTINE

Nicotine is a stimulant that comes from the tobacco plant. We use highly purified/USP grade/pharmaceutical grade nicotine.

FLAVOR

JUULpods flavors consist of both naturally occurring and artificial flavor ingredients which provide the specific taste profile for each flavor.

Propylene glycol

Propylene glycol (IUPAC name: propane-1,2-diol) is an organic compound with the chemical formula CH3CH(OH)CH2OH. It is a viscous, colorless liquid, which is nearly odorless but possesses a faintly sweet taste. Containing two alcohol groups, it is classed as a diol. It is miscible with a broad range of solvents, including water, acetone, and chloroform. In general, glycols are non-irritating, have very low volatility and very low toxicity.

It is produced on a large scale primarily for the production of polymers. In the European Union, it has the E-number E1520 for food applications. For cosmetics and pharmacology, the number is E490. Propylene glycol is also present in propylene glycol alginate, which is known as E405. Propylene glycol is a compound which is generally recognized as safe (GRAS) by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) under 21 CFR x184.1666 and is also approved by FDA for certain uses as an indirect food additive. Propylene glycol is approved and used as a vehicle for topical, oral and some intravenous pharmaceutical preparations in U.S. and in Europe.

Have they ever had any studies on Smoking or Vaping Propylene glycol. This product / chemical is in the same category as Acetone. I don’t think I would vape or smoke acetone. Acetone, or propanone, is the organic compound with the formula (CH3)2CO.[15]

  • Acetone is a colorless, volatile, flammable liquid and is the simplest and smallest ketone.
  • Acetone serves as an important solvent in its own right, typically for cleaning purposes in laboratories
  • Familiar household uses of acetone are as the active ingredient in nail polish remover and as paint thinner.

SO NOW YOU HAVE WET SMOKE GOING INTO YOUR LUNGS… NICE!!!

The Whole Point Of E-Cigarettes was to make smoking healthier. Tragic how money will always come out above anything in this society.. SAD

SERIOUSLY!!! YOU WANT TO VAPE THIS CRAP!!! START INVESTIGATING WHAT THE HECK YOU ARE PUTTING IN YOUR BODY…

It makes you wonder how much does our FDA really investigate these products before they give the ok…. This needs to change. REGULATIONS actually has a meaning…
